                    Water Supply Fundamentals for the Fire Service

                    This hands-on one-day practical training program will offer the student training utilizing various pumping systems and training props to enhance learning in the areas of water supply, pumping systems and fireground emergency operations. This training program will cover an overview of fire pumping systems, municipal water supply requirements and radio communications specific to water supply operations, during an emergency. Firehouse Training has teamed up with C-1 Fire Training equipment to provide top-notch training with incredible fireground props and teaching aides.

This course is designed with additional content and skill sets not covered previously in the Firehouse Training High-Rise Fire Safety Tactics training program.  This enhanced program will cover various topics in depth in relation to strategic hose placement, ventilation and on-site fire protection equipment familiarization and specialized radio communications and transmission. Firehouse Training has invited multiple subject-matter high-rise firefighting professionals from the Emergency Services from across Canada and USA, who will participate as active instructors during this specialized training program.

                        Flammable & Combustible Liquids Firefighter Training

                        According to the National Fire Protection Association around 1,600 fires occur annually in which flammable or combustible liquids have been involved. These are some of the most volatile and dangerous fires a firefighter will encounter. This in-class Firehouse Training Flammable & Combustible Liquids Training program, will outline the key areas of hazard and risk assessments for on-site industrial response teams or responding to local fire departments.

                        Upon successful completion of this Firehouse Training program, the student will:

                        • Describe the different characteristics of flammable liquids and hazardous materials

                          Ontario Fire Marshal - NFPA Level I & II Test Preparation Tutoring Sessions

                          Are you prepared to write for your OFM/NFPA Pro Board firefighter test? Have you completed your college Pre-Service Firefighter program, but were unsuccessful in passing the standardized provincial fire marshals testing?

                          Standard First Aid and CPR Training – HCP Level For Emergency Responders

                          This Health Care Provider Standard First Aid and CPR course teaches all CPR skills plus advanced skills which meet national WSIB protocols and Heart and Stroke Foundation guidelines.                           Confined Space Entry And Rescue

                          This 8 or 16 hour course is intended for individuals that will be employed as rescue personnel in a confined space capacity. Personnel are trained in not only the hazards and entry requirements of confined spaces, but will also acquire the skills and knowledge to safely and effectively coordinate, perform, and supervise a technical confined space rescue incident. The student will acquire skills and knowledge of ropes and knots, respiratory and communication systems, hazard recognition and appropriate control measures, patient packaging, atmospheric monitoring, advanced concepts in incident command, rescue strategies and tactics, rope based rescue systems, site management, team leadership, equipment and resource management, information gathering and utilization, advanced rescue techniques, technical rescue pre-planning and rescue scene management.

                          This 8 hour course focuses on basic rope fundamentals. The intention is to build confidence in each rescuer by expanding technical knowledge pertaining to high and low angle scenarios.                           The course below can be completed in a stand-alone 4 hour session, or as part of a separate certification in any of our full day fire safety training programs. One of the most important responsibilities of everyone is the detection and prevention of fires. When appropriate, staff should be trained in the proper and safe use of fire extinguishers. This course of instruction is not designed to equip the particpant with the knowledge and skills to detect and extinguish a fire only when it is safe to do so. Topics include the identification of different extinguisher classes, proper selection and operation and general fire safety.

                          High Rise Fire Safety

                          This 8 hour in-depth workplace specific Fire Safety course involving key areas for training and education specifically for the industrial or commercial high rise sector and emergency services personnel.                           Fire Safety Strategies For The Emergency Services

                          This is an 8 hour in-depth workplace specific Fire Safety course involving key areas for training and education specifically for the industrial and commercial sector. This course is ideal for any candidate or employee in the Fire, Police or Security Services. Course topics will include important Ontario Fire Code review, Fire Hazard and Fire Prevention Planning for Industrial and Commercial Occupancies, Building Familiarization with Sprinkler and Fire Alarm Systems and Equipment, Fire Safety plan review and training on communication and coordination procedures with the local Fire Department. Fire Extinguisher training component is available in this course, as well.

                          Trench Rescue Awareness

                          This 8 hour awarenss course provides an introduction and familiarization to trenching, soil classification, protective systems and shoring, atmospheric hazards, common site hazards, and familiarization of rescue techniques for emergency responders. Case studies and mock table-top scenarios and exercise will strongly enhance the particpants knowledge and experience in delaing with an on-site trench rescue.

                          Many spills are reported each year are caused by industry activities resulting from storage tanks rupturing, pipeline leaks, and oil transport accidents. These spills present a significant threat to the environment and often require specially trained emergency response personnel to contain and clean up the spills.

                          This 8 hour course provides training in the following areas:

                          • Applicable laws and regulations for Spills in Canada
                          • The use of an on-site spill response plan
                          • General operating procedures designed to prevent spills

                          Practical Incident Command Systems For The Emergency Services

                          This 8 hour course focuses on practical incident management training and table-top scenarios, is designed to challenge the student throughout various emergency service incidents. Have you taken IMS 100 to 400 and looking for some more practical hands-on training in Incident Command or Emergency Management? Are you looking for extra knowledge or understanding of how the incident management system works and the fire services industry best practices? This course help the learner understand how all of the emergency services come together to mitigate an emergency scene during various calls and also to implement an Incident Command Systems checklist for your full time or volunteer fire department, that you can use in the future. This one day course will consist of a combination of mock simulations, role playing, lecturing and demonstration of proper incident management competencies.

                          • Simulated emergency scenarios to teach the candidate about working through various calls in the areas of hazmat, working fires, high rise firefighting, natural disasters, technical rescues and CBRNE incidents

                          Strategies Against Terrorism For The Fire And Emergency Services

                          Ever wonder what the role of the Emergency Services is when dealing with large scale threats of Terrorism? How do Fire, Police and Paramedic services respond and work together to handle these calls? In accordance with NFPA 1001 and NFPA 472, this one-day educational course covers the basics roles and response within the Fire Department and joint responding emergency services when it comes to dealing with calls related to Global and Domestic Terrorism, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Active Shooters and Chemical Attacks and Bomb Threats.
